Give back on #GivingTuesday
Tuesday the 29th of November is the global day of giving! Here are 5 ways that you can give to your favourite charity on #GivingTuesday.
1. Give Time
If you can spare a couple of hours out of your busy work week then please consider approaching your local supermarkets and ask if you can hold a can collection for the BBS.
Rope in friends, neighbours and even your granny and make it a real team effort.
2. Give Money
You can donate instantly to the BBS. Text ICAN30 and either £1, £2, £3, £4, £5 or £10 to 70070.
For example ‘ICAN30 £2’ to 70070
With Christmas just round the corner, why not consider donating the money you would have spent sending your annual Christmas cards to the BBS instead? Or perhaps even the cost of a single Christmas card?
Please also remember to save any used stamps. It doesn’t matter if they are new, used, overseas, first or second class Mildred can turn them into cash! Leave your stamps on their original envelopes but trim them to leave about 1cm of paper around each one. Whether you’ve managed to save up a little or a lot please make sure you send them to Mildred – she also sells on postcards and old coins.
3. Give Socially
We have over 4,500 followers on social media and constantly try to raise awareness of OI and the important issues surrounding the condition, but we need your help to spread the message. So please continue to like, share, RT, double tap, repost to help us increase our reach!
4. Give 10 Kilometres
If you are really inspired by all the lovely giving back vibes and are up for challenge then why not register your interest to run the 2017 British 10K London Run? All we ask is that you fundraise a minimum of £250 to cover the cost of your place.
We have secured 18 places for this event and would love to see them all filled! The date for the 10K is still to be confirmed (last year’s run was in July), we will keep you updated.
Register your interest today by filling out and returning the Race Place Form
5. Give regularly
You can also sign up online to regularly give as little or as much as you can. This regular gift will help us ensure that we can continue to provide front line assistance; fund specialised equipment and call for improvements in treatment for years to come.
We want to help everyone find the support they need to face the challenges OI can bring.
