Patricia Osborne, Chief Executive
Patricia Osborne is the Chief Executive of the Brittle Bone Society and has been working with the charity since 2009. Patricia has developed expertise working previously in the media, politics, and sport. Her career included 14 years working for a leading publisher in Scotland, 4 years serving as an Elected Member and as Chairperson for a sports National Governing Body. During her time with the Brittle Bone Society, Patricia has worked on two successful strategic plans. Patricia’s focus has been on establishing the best support possible for the OI community, the formation and set up of the charity’s Medical Advisory Board and Scientific Committee, and achieving membership to the Association of Medical Research Charities (AMRC). The next key aim for the charity going forward is to ensure a workable, fair adult OI health care service is set up and established in the NHS.
Coreen Kelday, Support Development Officer
Coreen is our Support Development Officer and has been working for the charity since August 2011. Her main area of responsibility is to provide a UK-wide support and information service to anyone affected by OI, their families, carers and associated professionals and to signpost to specialist services or bodies where appropriate. Coreen has built up strong relationships with NHS healthcare professionals and is a member of the Paediatric Osteogenesis Imperfecta National Team (POINT). She continues to work closely with POINT to develop new factsheets and resources and is also the first point of contact for any wheelchair applications. Coreen is also kept busy with organising our ever increasing list of events.
Coreen has a BA in Business Administration and prior to coming to the BBS had worked in private healthcare for 10 years. In her spare time, she is a keen musician and plays both flute and piano.
