Our first ever Healthy Living Workshop took place in Dundee on 9th March 2019, from 10am – 4pm. The fully booked session saw members and supporters of the Brittle Bone Society travel from all across Scotland to participate!
Brittle Bone Society member Penny Clapcott ran exercise and Zumba classes; Prof Stuart Ralston, Rheumatologist from Edinburgh Uni discussed pain management and the TOPaZ Trial, Carrie Marr, Physiotherapist from Sheffield Children’s Hospital and Chris Clark, Occupational Therapist from Great Ormond Street Hospital were involved in workshops and discussions. Topics such as accessing gyms, taking up sport, diet and much more were covered in this Saturday workshop. Lama Jiga from the local Dundee Nilupul Foundation ran a mindfulness session for our members as well.
With thanks to funders and amazing supporters at the Northwood Trust, we were thrilled to hold our Healthy Living Workshop in the fabulous HQ of the home of ‘Oor Wullie’ and ‘The Beano’ in the beautiful Meadowside office of DC Thomson, world renowned publishers in Dundee.
