To celebrate Wishbone Day 2018, a variety of events were held by various BBS members and supporters.
Medics on The March
A group of medics took on the Scottish mother of all challenges, walking the whole 96 miles of the West Highland Way in just 4 days. The route took them from Fort William to Milngavie and the BBS team and members were there to greet them at the finish line.
BBS North East Wishbone Party
On Sunday 13th May, the BBS North East Support held a Wishbone Day get together at Hardwick Park, Sedgefield. A great day was had by all!
Cake Sale by Lorraine Mullane
On Friday 4th May, Lorraine Mullane held a delicious cake sale at her son’s school.
Great Pier Walk, Southend on Sea with Greer Day
On Sunday 6th May, Greer walked her way up and down the 1-mile pier as many times as she could to raise money for the BBS.
Table Top Sale by Rachel and Keiran Dube
4-year-old Keiran , and his mum Rachel caught the eye of local press in their hometown of Scarborough with the news of their fundraiser hitting the local newspaper. Rachel and Keiran held a table top sale at the Sensory Play House.
Cake Sale & Sponsored Silence by Olivia Jones
Olivia pulled out all the stops this wishbone day with a cake sale in her school on Friday 4th May, plus an all-day sponsored silence on Sunday 6th May.
Tombola by Angie Stewart
As the Tour de Yorkshire passed through the Town of Bedale on Saturday 5th May , our Trustee Angie Stewart was in the midst of the crowds with her very own handcrafted BBS themed Tombola drum!
Awareness Raising by Angie Stewart
Not content with her tombola, Angie also delivered a talk on her life, living with OI and the support of the BBS to the Lions, who supported her with a young person’s ambassador award nomination and made a donation to the BBS some 25 years ago.
